Today we’re putting a small piece of CUBEE and the Lost Worlds in your hands. The demo is free, it runs right in your browser, and you can play it now:
What is it?
CUBEE is a cube-rolling puzzle game. You play Cubee, a cube with six coloured faces, tumbling across floating islands. Every roll turns Cubee a quarter turn, which changes which colour is facing up. To finish a level, you have to reach the goal with the right colour on top.
That’s the whole rule. There’s no combat, no timer pressure and no inventory. Just orientation, and working out where each roll leaves you.
The fun starts when the game builds on that one rule. Along the way you’ll meet crumbling tiles, teleporters that keep your orientation, mushrooms that bounce you in surprising ways, and a rotating skull that’s only dangerous on certain moves. Count your moves, and you can always work out when it’s safe.

Why a puzzle game?
We met at the University of the Arts London, and puzzle games have been part of how we work ever since. Early on we leaned on maths and riddles because we didn’t have the artwork to lean on. Since then we’ve been hooked on the old-school puzzlers that made you stop and think, like Kula World, Devil Dice and I.Q.: Intelligent Qube. CUBEE is our take on that, wrapped in something warm and cosy.
We also care about games that ask for real mental effort. TypeFighters does it in its own way, and CUBEE does it with your head rather than your reflexes. There’s no punishment for being wrong. A wrong turn just respawns you, so you can try again and work out why your plan didn’t land on the right colour. Puzzle games are a great way to get young players (and the rest of us) thinking three moves ahead. We hope CUBEE can be one of them.

What’s in the demo?
- A short onboarding run that teaches the roll, the colours and the goal
- A curated selection of levels from across the worlds: sky islands, a desert kingdom, an industrial mine and the jungle temple
- Gold and silver medals for time and moves, and secret crystals hidden in some levels
- A results screen at the end that adds up your total time, medals and crystals
The full playthrough takes around 40 minutes, so it’s a good sit-down. It’s a small taste of the game, because we’ve got plenty more built.
What’s next?
The demo is a small slice. We have around 60 levels finished so far, and more worlds on the way. Our next big step is the Steam store page, coming soon, ahead of the full release in 2027. We’re also making a Windows build for testing.
Tell us what you think
We’d love to know where you got stuck, what made you smile and which level made you say “oh, that’s clever”. Leave a comment on the itch page or find us on socials.
Controls: WASD to move, E and Q to spin in place, R to restart a level.
